Elementary
1st Grade Curriculum
Language Arts & Reading
Students strengthen reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills through poetry, fiction, language conventions, and sayings and phrases.
History & Geography
Students explore basic geography and Ancient Greece, including daily life, the Greek alphabet, art and architecture, the Olympics, Aesop’s Fables, The Odyssey, Athenian democracy, mythology, famous Greeks, and biblical connections such as David and Goliath.
Mathematics
Students identify, write, and count numbers to 100; explore even and odd numbers; practice addition and subtraction; tell time to the hour; recognize coins; graph data; and explore lines of symmetry.
Science
Students learn what scientists do while studying plants, animals, habitats, and introductory concepts in biomimicry.
Religion
Students grow in faith by learning about God the Father, Creation, the Bible, angels, Heaven, Mary, the life of Jesus, and preparation for the Savior.
2nd Grade Curriculum
Religion
Students deepen their relationship with Christ through Jesus Our Life and the Faith and Life Series. Instruction includes preparation for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion, helping students grow in faith, prayer, and understanding of the sacraments.
Mathematics
Using Sadlier workbooks, students build strong foundational math skills including addition and subtraction, place value to 100, and two-digit addition through guided practice and hands-on learning.
Nature Studies
Students explore God’s creation through the study of waterways, rocks and minerals, soil, and magnets, fostering curiosity and wonder about the natural world.
History
Students study Ancient Rome using Story of the World, Volume 1 and Ancient Times by Susan Wise Bauer, gaining an early understanding of world history through engaging stories.
Literature
Students are introduced to classic poetry and literature, including poems numbered one through twenty, building listening skills, vocabulary, and an appreciation for beautiful language.
3rd Grade Curriculum
Religion
Students deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith through Our Life with Jesus, studying the Ten Commandments, the Life of Jesus, and Sacred Scripture. Lessons emphasize moral formation, virtue, and growing in a personal relationship with Christ.
Mathematics
Using the Saxon math program, students develop strong number sense and problem-solving skills. Instruction includes word problem comprehension, multiplication, division, and an introduction to fractions.
Nature Studies
Through teacher-created materials and McGraw Hill resources, students explore plants, environments, simple machines, and life cycles, fostering curiosity and appreciation for God’s creation.
History
Students study the Middle Ages and world geography using The Story of Civilization, learning to read and understand world maps while gaining historical perspective through storytelling.
Literature
Students read and discuss classic works such as Charlotte’s Web, The Magician’s Nephew, The Whipping Boy, The Door in the Wall, stories of King Arthur, and the lives of St. Dominic and St. Thomas Aquinas. Instruction emphasizes reading with expression, empathy, story comprehension, and word decoding skills.
4th Grade Curriculum
Religion
Students grow in their faith through Jesus, Our Guide, learning how Christ leads us in prayer, virtue, and daily life.
Mathematics
Using Sadlier Math, students strengthen foundational skills in addition, subtraction, and multiplication while developing accuracy, confidence, and problem-solving strategies.
Nature Studies
Students explore the wonders of God’s creation through astronomy, studying the sun, moon, stars, and planets while developing curiosity about the universe.

5th Grade Curriculum
Religion
Students deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith through the sacramental celebration of the Eucharist and core Church doctrine. Instruction emphasizes the dignity of the human person, family life, morality, service, social justice, and servant leadership, while students continually grow in prayer and an appreciation of God’s goodness in themselves and others.
Mathematics
Using Saxon Math, students strengthen foundational and advanced skills in number sense, fractions and decimals, ratios and percent, geometry, measurement, probability, statistics, and introductory pre-algebra. Instruction emphasizes accuracy, consistency, and logical problem-solving.
