Language Arts & Reading

Students build early literacy skills through a balanced, phonics-based approach that nurtures a love of language. Instruction includes:

  • Listening and speaking

  • Reading and early writing

  • Language conventions and vocabulary development

  • Poetry and age-appropriate fiction

  • Phonics instruction using IMSE-based methods


History & Geography

Children are introduced to the foundations of world history and cultures through engaging stories and hands-on activities. Areas of study include:

  • Early nomadic societies

  • Ancient civilizations such as:

    • Egyptians

    • Sumerians

    • Jewish People

    • Babylonians and Assyrians

    • Phoenicians

  • Early civilizations of China, Africa, and India


Mathematics

Our math curriculum builds strong number sense and problem-solving skills through interactive learning. Students explore:

  • Sorting and classifying

  • Counting and number writing (to 20)

  • Numbers to 100

  • Two- and three-dimensional shapes

  • Position and location

  • Measurement

  • Time and money

  • Beginning addition and subtraction (to 10)


Science

Through observation and exploration, students discover the wonders of God’s creation. Topics include:

  • Dinosaurs and fossils

  • Plants and plant parts

  • Basic animal groups and habitats

  • The water cycle

  • The solar system

  • Seasons

  • The human body and the five senses

  • Simple machines

  • Magnets


Religion

Faith is integrated throughout the day as children grow in their understanding of God’s love. Areas of focus include:

  • Who Is Jesus?

  • Jesus Loves Us

  • The Early Life of Jesus

  • Jesus Proclaims the Kingdom

  • Jesus Saves Us

  • Jesus Loves the Church
